Erin

Animal Health Technician
Erin

Erin is a dedicated and hard working member of our Amherst team. She was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta where she pursued a degree in Physical Education and Recreation at the U of A. After completing her degree, she decided to head off and see the world while working aboard cruise ships as a Youth Staff. After completing her adventures out at sea in 2004, Erin moved to Vancouver and was employed at a community recreation centre coordinating children and youth recreation and volunteer programs.

In 2008, she decided a change of pace was in order and chose to pursue an interest in the veterinary world. In search of a good fit, she sought out our clinic and became a part of our team as a Veterinary Hospital Assistant. Discovering that working with animals was truly her career passion, she decided in 2011 to further her education. She enrolled in the Thompson Rivers University’s Animal Health Technology Distance Education program, finally graduating top of her class in 2014 with her Veterinary Technician’s Diploma. Erin says, “I am very much looking forward to growing and building upon my skills and knowledge in my new role as a Registered Veterinary Technician here at Amherst, I certainly could not have asked for a better team and group of mentors to work with and learn from each day.” Erin adores animals, has excellent people skills and Amherst is thrilled to have such a competent, fun member of our “family”.

On a personal note, Erin has a strong passion for soccer and plays with a local competitive women’s Selects team. She also enjoys cooking and baking, surfing in Tofino, paddle boarding on the local waters, and snuggling her orange tabby cat named ZaZoo!
