Carina

Reception
Armida

Carina is part of our stellar reception team and is one of the first friendly faces you see upon visiting Amherst Veterinary Hospital. Carina combines her love of animals—all shapes and sizes—with her passion for customer service to help patients and their humans receive the education and care they need.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Carina grew up surrounded by animals, including large farm animals, dogs and cats. Her love of animals was piqued when Carina discovered a calico kitten in the closet of her grade 4 classroom, who was quickly named Princess and welcomed into the family. Her passion for pets led her to study biology, which spurred an education in the veterinary field.

Carina was a student of the Veterinary Assistant program at CDI College in Richmond, where she graduated as valedictorian. Her clinical interests are in pharmacology, anatomy, and—of course—client communication, which is what makes her so great in her role at Amherst. She brings with her more than three years of vet clinic experience.

In her time off work, Carina likes to get active, hunt for Vancouver’s best dessert hot spots, and read. She aims to become a Registered Veterinary Technician in her future so that she may continue her quest to support stray and sick animals.

Carina looks forward to welcoming you and your furry family the next time you visit Amherst!
