This year the staff at Amherst Veterinary Hospital put together a “Gift of Hope” Christmas hamper for a family sponsored by Union Gospel Mission this year.
Amherst generously provided the funds for a meal, fresh turkey, fruit, veggies, etc. and gifts for the entire family. The staff then divided up the funds and set out on their way to shop for each family member.
On November 13th we gathered together to organize all the gifts, label them and get them ready for delivery. Today we delivered the hampers to the Union Gospel Women’s and Families Centre. The staff there were amazed at what Amherst had put together. The receptionist was almost in tears and said how grateful she was to be part of such an overwhelming response and the generosity of Amherst and other organizations. The staff had a lot of fun putting this together and it was done with such caring.
We are really proud of the great people we have working here at Amherst. And as staff we are also very proud to work for an organization that is so generous to its community.
