Dr. Juliana Toledo

Dr. ToIedo obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she grew up. She was working as a veterinarian in Brazil for over 7 years before she moved to Vancouver. She has spent the last 5 years in Vancouver, working in fast paced environments in emergency and a busy general practice.

During university she volunteered on weekends, traveling around the city to help in spay and neuter clinics.

After several years of working in general practice, emergency, and critical care she decided to travel and explore both the outside world and the veterinary field abroad. Once arriving in Vancouver, she fell in love with this beautiful city and the Veterinary field and community within it.

Emergency medicine and critical care have always been a passion of Dr. Toledo. While she still enjoys the challenges of emergency medicine, she has learned she could better improve her patient’s quality of life working with preventive medicine while also offering excellent care in all circumstances.

Dr. Toledo has vast areas of interests ranging from preventative care to internal medicine cases. She enjoys making connections with the family of her patients and improving their quality of life. Dr. Toledo loves soft tissue surgeries; these were one of her first areas of interest since university and continue to be one of her favorites.

Dr. Toledo brings many qualities to the job of being a veterinarian. She is calm and able to manage stress well when dealing with sick pets as it can be very stressful for all involved. Dr. Toledo treats each day as a new day and will always bring a positive energy to work.

She choose this career as she was always fascinated by biology and physiology and how the body works. Needless to say, animals have a soft spot in her heart, so why not combine the very exciting science and medicine with the best patients: veterinary medicine.

Dr. Toledo enjoys lots of walks with her little one exploring BC, playing different sports, especially at the beach. She has 2 pets, a spicy dog named Jax and a sweet cat named Julio, both rescues.
