Nancy
AHT AssistantNancy is another native of the lower mainland. Nancy grew up in Richmond, BC and currently lives in Squamish with her husband Mike and their cat Ebony.
Not only has Nancy completed the Veterinary Office Assistant designation from the Granville Business College, but she is also accomplished in baking and pastry arts! Quite a diverse talent, and one that we are all enjoying here at Amherst.
Nancy brings over fifteen years of experience working with animals to her role as Veterinary Assistant. She has worked at four other veterinary clinics and a boarding kennel over the years.
Nancy doesn’t have one special medical interest but loves the variety of medical information she is exposed to in her role. She is a hard worker, takes initiative and is extremely caring toward the animals. She has chosen this career because she loves being with the animals. She enjoys having an influence on the animal’s welfare and the feeling she gets from helping to make a difference in their care.
Nancy adopted her own cat Ebony from a previous client who had found the cat under her porch and pregnant. Poor girl. Lucky Ebony found a forever home though with very caring parents.
Nancy and her husband are very active out of doors, they camp, hike, bike, kayak and just generally love to travel this way.
Nancy says of Amherst, “I love working at Amherst. Everyone here is treated like an equal member of the team”. We are very lucky to have Nancy on our Amherst team.
